Nancy and Robbie Jones have surpassed their expectations with their Showhomes franchise.
After becoming exposed to the industry while living in Florida, home staging experts Nancy and Robbie Jones purchased a Showhomes franchise in 2014 with a territory covering Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point. In the couple’s first year of ownership, they were expected to perform $75,000 in sales but are on track to push $300,000 by the end of the year.
“They have been a real boost to our whole system,” Matt Kelton, Showhomes Home Staging's chief operating officer, told the Winston-Salem Journal. “They’ve done more revenue than some franchisees who have been around for 10 years or longer. They’ve been able to bring in enthusiasm and energy and the right attitude. They’ve also done a good job of building Showhomes — our name in the Triad.”
The couple is mirroring trends of the company as Showhomes has had its biggest success in its 30-year history.
“A lot of it is our new services, but we’ve had people like Robbie and Nancy who have really taken it to a whole different level,” Kelton said.
Although the majority of their business comes from updates, it’s staging that adds the greatest value to sellers whose homes have been on the market for a long period of time. Unique layouts can be difficult for potential buyers to visualize their furniture in the space, but once staged, a room that initially looked awkward suddenly becomes appealing.
“What was missing was visualizing the space through the buyer’s eye, and that’s what Nancy and her team were able to do,” Realtor Earla Clark said.
